The pandemic changed how the 34.2 million people with diabetes in the United States manage their condition.1 From the increased use of telehealth to the way prescriptions are delivered, people with diabetes now have different needs and requests than they had in 2019.

The pandemic may have highlighted the importance of virtual care, but the most effective diabetes management efforts moving forward will integrate new virtual options within the larger care ecosystem. More member choice, not less, is the future of effective post-COVID diabetes management.
