Anthony Palmieri

Member Quality Assurance (MQA) is a comprehensive fraud, waste and abuse program developed for the Federal Employee Program (FEP). MQA utilizes multiple tools and techniques to analyze prospective, concurrent and retrospective drug usage to effectively identify negative trends and aberrant utilization. MQA operates in coordination with all FEP clinical programs, as well as the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association’s Director’s Office, Special Investigations Unit (SIU), individual Blues plans and various law enforcement departments.

In his prior role, Palmieri was the clinical lead, employer market segment for CVS Caremark. He led a nationally based team of pharmacists that acts as an information resource for drug and marketplace information for payors, as well as internal partners across the company. His team worked closely with clients, analyzing drug utilization information to spot trends and to help evaluate plan performance based on marketplace factors and client-specific designs.

Anthony received his Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy magna cum laude from St. John’s University in New York. He also holds a Master’s in Business Administration with a focus on health care management from the University of Phoenix and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Shenandoah University’s Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy. He currently sits on the Executive Advisory Board for the University of Phoenix Center for Healthcare Research.
